I was born on the East Coast, raised in a small Missouri town (population: 2,000—where everyone knew everyone), and spent most of my life in West Central Illinois. I now call Southern Colorado home. My muses:
I traded small-town charm for mountain skies, where I earned my associate’s degree from Pueblo Community College (2023) and my bachelor’s degree from Southern New Hampshire University (2025) because sleep is overrated.
Plotter or Pantser? Pantser—outlines are for organized people, whom I envy.
Drafting or Editing? Drafting. I like to leave editing till the end of my deadline so I can live in a state of chaos and burnout.
Dialogue or Description? Description. I sometimes forget that my characters have voices.
Character-Driven or Plot-Driven? Character-driven. The plot is just their emotional baggage taxi.
Write with music or silence? Music—but only instrumental; otherwise, I’m performing like Adele instead of typing.
Handwritten or typed? Typed. I’m too easily distracted by pens and paper.
Morning writer or night owl? Reformed night owl.
Write in a dedicated space or anywhere? Dedicated space, no cats allowed.
Food: Egg rolls + ice cream (separately, you monsters).
Drink: Dr. Pepper Zero Cream Soda by day, iced proffee by… also day.
Color: Rainbow. Yes, it’s a color!
Place to Visit: Back home in Illinois (nostalgia is my other muse).
Pizza Topping: Ham + mushrooms—fight me.
Time of Year: Christmas or when it’s raining.
Genre to Read: Everything. My bookshelf is a multiverse.
Crafting speculative worlds that claw at the edges of reality—where the impossible feels inevitable, and readers leave questioning their own shadows. Also, professionally inventing new and fun ways to destroy humanity (for novel research, of course… one suspicious Google search at a time).
